Pig Passage Indicators
Pig Passage Indicators or Pig Sig’s are devices used to indicate when a pig has passed a certain point. They are typically used at launchers and receivers to inform the user that their pig has left the trap or arrived in the trap. There are intrusive and non-intrusive pig detectors. Intrusive pig detectors operate when a pig passes and mechanically makes contact with a lever or piston hanging down in the pipe. This triggers either a visual or electrical indicator to the user. Non-intrusive pig detectors require that a pig be outfitted with a magnet. The magnetic field in the pig will activate the receiver unit, which will then trigger a visual or electrical indicator. Apache pigPRO™ Intrusive Passage Indicators
TDW Pig Sig V
TDW’s PIG-SIG V Pig Passage Indicator is a device installed at prescribed intervals on pipelines to detect the passage of a pipeline pig. This unique product functions by extending an omnidirectional trigger into the pipeline through a welded fitting: the trigger is tripped by the passage of a pipeline pig. The TDW PIG-SIG V Pig Passage Indicator is easy to install, compatible with all standard THREAD-O-RING nipples, as well as flanged fittings, and all but eliminates trigger breakage. Signaling systems available with the PIG-SIG V device include a flag indicator, an electrical indicator or a combination flag/electrical unit. The PIG-SIG V device can also be provided in a flange-mounted configuration per the required pipeline pressure class (up to 2500 lbs).

Bandit
The CD52 Bandit is a non-intrusive pig signaler which uses either permanent magnets or active transmitters mounted onto the pig to detect passage from 0.022 to 45.73 mph (0.01m/s to 20 m/s). With thousands of systems sold around the world over the past 15 years, the CD52 pig signaler has developed a strong reputation in the industry for its reliability and durability in even the harshest environments.
LineStat
CDI’s TRAXALL LineStat is a global, value added satellite based event notification service provided by CDI and targeted primarily to the oil and gas pipeline industry. LineStat provides notification to email addresses and SMS text messaging telephone numbers of remote events from both fixed position and portable equipment. Some of the details included in event notifications messages are date, time, GPS position, battery status, and vibration. This information is transmitted via satellite without use of cellular networks and without needing a wired infrastructure of any kind.
CD-52 Subsea Pig Signaler
The CD52 family of products allow for easy, clamp-on, non-intrusive pig passage detection to depths of 3000 meters (9850 ft) for the CD52-A30 or 4500 meters (14750 ft) for the CD52-A45. Non-intrusive means fewer problems with maintenance and corrosion and no possibilities of leaks. Simple isolation pads may be placed between the detector and the pipe to ensure zero possibility of galvanic corrosion.
Magna Sygg
The MAGNA-SYGG from S.U.N. Engineering, Inc. is truly a non-intrusive pipeline pig detector. Simple and rugged, it can be strapped to the surface of a pipe or it can be used as a portable pig passage indicator. You do not have to shut down the pipeline and wait for an expensive crew to install special fittings - the MAGNA-SYGG pig detector is ready to go to work.
N.I.P.S. Unit
Enduro has designed the Non-Intrusive Pig Sensor to detect a change in the magnetic field as a pig runs through a pipeline and under the unit. Each NIPS is equipped with a strong rare earth magnet on the base that attaches directly to the pipe. It is a simple, lightweight, portable and cost-effective unit destined to be your next piece of standard tracking equipment.
